Merry Christmas! Another good day for a hike! Of course, we must eat some delicious breakfast breads first. After breakfast, we head out to Elk Meadow park. It’s a bit chilly but the sun is shining. We see some ominous clouds in the distance. We strike out on the 3.5 mile loop, slightly uphill most of the way, then some ups and down, then a steep downhill. At the end of the steep downhill, we break outof the trees and are greeted by biting, icy winds. We speedwalk back while trying not to slip on the ice. On the drive back from the park, we make our way through some snow flurries. Dinner today was meat pie, but instead of a traditional crust we replace with crispy crowns. Yes, that was delicious! The after dinner mint pie had too much fudge added, but still tasty.
