Packing Suggestions

This is a general list to give you some ideas. Not everyone needs everything on the list. These are just some things I typically bring. Check out the links to Rick Steves’ suggestions at the bottom of the page.

Bring only what you absolutely need because you carry what you pack! Remember, we can buy things over there. Travel size stuff is best – light to carry and easy to pack.

We have found a 21 – 23″ carry-on wheeled suitcase works well. Although, wheeling the suitcase over cobblestone or up stairs can be challenging and loud. Some of us are planning to take a travel backpack, which is like a suitcase you can carry on your back like a backpack. We may not check any bags.

    Some items we find necessary:

    • Bible
    • $20 money- I usually bring $20 American money
    • cc/atm: without international charge (call your bank to notify you will be out of country)
    • passport (expiration cannot be within 6 months of return travel date)
    • pants/shorts/skirts
    • shirts- short and long sleeves
    • thermals – top/bottom
    • underwear/spandex/sports bras/slip
    • socks – hiking
