    Cities/Villages/Towns: Brienz Murren

    Some featured areas we visited:

It’s Day 10 of our Switzerland trip and we are heading to Brienz!
We enjoy our last breakfast in Mürren then head down the mountain and over to Brienz. The weather is spectacular. Our place isn’t ready yet but we can drop off the luggage.
This house is right on the lake. It is gorgeous.
The Brienzer Rothorn train is right by the house but it is too crowded at the moment. Instead we head to Meiringen and up the long series of lifts to the top. You can see all around. The views are amazing once again.
We later take a ride on the boat around lake Brienz. It is gorgeous. It is really windy on the front of the boat so we head to the back. After a bit, the train starts and we head inside to be shielded from the rain and wind.
Tomorrow it is supposed to rain. I’ll be updating the posts and photos so far if we truly have enough rain to keep us from hiking.

    Here's a mapped route!

    1. Good to see the whole gang back together. You guys are seeing so much more than we who, while we did some hiking, saw most of the country through the window of our rental car. We needed you as our tour guide. You also know how to pick the best weather!

I think we took a train up to the top of the Rothhorn. But at my age I can’t be sure of anything – except how to get on and off my bike. Leisa was here today and we did a 32 mike ride. Heidi and Bjarki were here for supper. I have sent them the link to your wonderful travel blog. Your photos are amazing.

      1. We rode the Rothorn train to the top. It took an hour. When we got off we started walking up to the peak. It was windy and cold. Luckily Kristin saw the next train left in one and a half hours. And our train would return in 2 minutes. A few of us started running back for the train. Poor Dave was busy taking pictures. When he looked around he was alone. Fortunately the lady at the train saw us running and held up the train for us. She said they were expecting a few inches of snow that afternoon. Us wimpy Americans were not ready for the weather. It was a nice ride back to the warm house.

      2. Hi Norman, Where did you travel to in Switzerland besides the Jungfrau region? Having a rental car would be an interesting option as well! The views at the top of the Rothorn are amazing, but that is a long ride. You will probably recognize them once you see our pics on the 26th (but we didn’t get many pics from the top because we had to run from the cold).
32 miles is an impressive bike ride. You put all of us to shame.
Glad you are enjoying the travel posts!
